The U.S. spec car has a hand break as opposed to the electronic parking brake.

I thought the same thing, and I had put LED tag lights on my Subaru as well. I thought I read about some people getting error messages from messing with the tag lights on these cars?

The interior lighting is LED though.

Absolutely Georgous, Not many reflex silver GTI or GTDs about. I have ordered a Reflex silver and was not sure about it, but now after seeing your photos, I know I have made the correct decission.

There are some that will not throw a code if you do it right. Look here;

i'm amazed that VW went with the 'standard across the range' taillights on GTI'S & GTD'S, in some countries...the LED's tailights make the car stand out so much more...
