Littco and DBV2 turbos are also very good but cost more money.

L450 with WG and DV is roughly $1600 at today's exchange rates (US). That is a 400whp on pump and roughly 440whp on E40-50 turbo.

Not the power of a EQT but a great value proposition especially for a traction limited GTI.

I haven’t seen any data on the newer DBV2 turbos... did they significantly improve spool? The older ones spooled about 1000rpm later than ours.

Thanks

I believe that still to be the case on spool. They are peaky but make power up top. This is an S3 on a Mustang Dyno. For a car that is driven on the street the curve of the EQT is my preference. The DBV2 will feel like a big turbo Supra and the EQT will feel like a supercharged LT4.

hard to compare different setups in different places but I have not seen any dyno charts of any other turbo for this platform spool faster than the EQT setups I've seen. actually not even close from what I've seen at >400whp. EQT seems to spool about 1000 rpm faster than Boss500 too and make more power.

The V2 Boss turbos are actually quite good. Here is a Boss600 here at 5200ft elevation. This was a 3rd gear pull.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought the L500 was closer to the EQT than the L450.

L500 no WG no DV shipped is $2,382 USD

I can recommend the L450 for the value but as soon as you go L500 it is still $200 more even after you add a WG and DV to a EQT. And really you want the DV off your current turbo, not the DV that comes with the L500 unless you change the spring. So we are looking at maybe even $300 more if you use your current DV.

So L450 for the complete $1600 option, The EQT for the complete $2k option.

Need to see more of these EQTs filling the tear jar in Mexico.

Saw a suspect one vs a Hellcat but was quite impressed.
I need a go pro or something, I can run my buddy in his c6 zo6 built motor, he ran 40-168 in a half mile, no fly zone

You need to be careful with who you run....

... you might end up without friends :p
Lol nobody wants to get beat buy a vw hatch with a car seat in it. I cant get anyone to run me since I have put the eqt in, i tried to get a subie hatch to play last night but all he did was a quick speed up then that was it, the subie guys in this town never want to play

Once these cars get quick, it's tough to get races unless they're pre-arranged. Even a good running IS38 you have to be careful not to scare off randoms.

I was playing with an RS3 over the weekend and did a short WOT pull and he lost all interest after that and refused to run...and Railroader has 90whp on me.

That's because the Subie guys know better not to now.

A proper C6 Z06 can make over 600whp N/A. They are light (roughly 3150 lbs) with great gearing as well.
Its fast, he built it himself, runs on c16
