I think I'm going to pull the trigger on some RE-71R's strictly for the 3 - 4 summer months; so May or June till August.

Anybody that has used these tires before, how do they handle in the rain?

Rain is not really an issue. Standing water is, and I don’t mean just puddles. Those roads that have grooves from traffic that water tends to pool and run off in...Ice skates. Otherwise they’re an awesome dry traction tire that will only last you around 8k miles.

Has anyone recommended AWD yet? Although I think I could benefit from some stickier tires or better mounts. Currently spinning off the line on the street.

I have tried Federal RS-RR for autocross. 200 tw, they run a little wide, stick well. They make RE71R seem quiet. Inexpensive every day.

haven't tried, but newest Federal 200 tw is RS-PRO. Their width is widest I've seen by listed size, claimed to be less noisy.
