Hi Everyone :)
I drive a Cupra 280 DSG with JB4 on a Map 6 (DP, DV+ & K&N Panel Filter)

1500-15
2000-16
2500-17
3000-18
3500-21
4000-23
4500-23
5000-23
5500-20
6000-19
6500-18
7000- 17

Some log from another day:
https://datazap.me/u/bagy/map-6-094...4-6-9-11-14-19&trim=0&tmin=129.09&tmax=263.25

But yesterday i was driving on the German Autobahn and the car is not performing like I was hoping. In the 6 Gear on 2000-3500 RPM (Normal cruising) I have some weird acceleration feeling, pulsating on partial throttle. When I try to WOT in the 5 gear the car is having a “stop” on 5000rpm and after a second he continues to accelerate.
The Problem is, I have no log from that drive. On that day we had 93.2 °F, but the acceleration in 1-4 Gear was normal. Only on >=5 Gear I had this stop on 5000rpm.

What can it be? It’s better to drive on a relative map for a normal driving experience and hot summers?

p.s. I use 98 Gasoline (in Europe 102 Octane) and sorry for the grammar :)

Your grammar is fine. Everything looks good. I'd put boost safety at 25 though as you hit 24 and hold it for awhile in 5th. Also, odd that your load isn't working.

https://datazap.me/u/bagy/map-6-0941-15072018?log=0&data=1-21&trim=0&tmin=129.09&tmax=263.25

I'd contact George about your surging.

I have already set the boost safety on 25, FOL 50 and uploaded a beta Firmware from George (VW_JB4_OBDII_6_T3).

On the weekend I try to get some logs in the >= 5 Gear :)

p.s. Autoshift Boost Reduction is on 60

Maybe someone else can say why, but it looks like even though your pedal is at 100%, your throttle is being modulated downward and isn't smooth. Not sure why, but when I look at some of my logs, my throttle makes it's way up to 100% quickly and stays there when I have my pedal floored.

Is it a DSG thing? Or possibly a drive mode thing?

It's a Golf R/S3 thing and part of the torque targeting strategy. It's normal.

Ahh. Interesting. Thank you.

Going back to additive, since it gets more mph in the 1/8th mile track - assuming due to the higher boost in 4th gear. Looks like I may be able to add a bit more up top maybe?

S3
IE Downpipe
APR Intercooler
AFE drop in
RS7 plugs
93 Octane
89* Ambient

Better gas would get more power. If no E85 around do they sell racegas at the track? Gotta get that timing off the floor.

https://datazap.me/u/madtoy/nmadd41?log=0&data=1-11

You could certainly try more boost and see how it responds at the track. I'm sure timing will suffer more but perhaps the added boost more than offsets it? Only one way to find out....

That's what I was thinking. Hoping to hit the 1/4 mile this Friday if it doesn't get rained out again. My additive and absolute logs previously looked very much the same, with the same boost and timing in 3rd gear. Yet the additive was a bit more than 1mph faster, and ever so slightly better ET. I'm thinking over a 1/4 it would be a more noticeable spread.

No E85 in my neck of the woods unfortunately :/

Pretty sure they only have E15, but I may run by there to verify when I get a chance. Thanks.....

I wouldn't mind checking out your car. I have a JB4 GTI I have yet to move from Map 1.

Today I will change the JB4 Harness (New one). Because when I want to read the data from JB4 over USB, there is no live Data (like RPM, Load etc.). And before that, I was getting Low Voltage Errors from the Sensor where JB4 is plugged in.

I tried to clean all connectors, and it worked for a few days, after that, the same problem.

p.s. with "checking out your car" you mean, to meet us ? :) no problem at all :)

how were you able to get a new harness and just the harness ? I have a JB1 just sitting around sine i upgraded to the JB4 and it would be nice to give it to someone. but without the harness its useless of course.

Hi Diggs,

Here's a log from this morning. 2nd gear followed by 3rd, off the gas, a little more 3rd. Not a super clean run, but I can do more if you'd like.

https://datazap.me/u/gti925/jb4-map-6?log=0&data=1-4-11-25-26&zoom=393-523

Car has felt a bit 'off' lately and I don't know if it's because I've adapted to the increase in power or if its from the constant hot weather we've had.

Thanks,
Roy
