If its a Canadian 2015 Golf GTI Autobahn, it's supposed to have fender sound package. That year I recall you only had two adder options, the PP and the comfort package (leather seats) and regardless of what options you choose it should have fender as standard.Been reading through this monster thread and wanted to say thanks for posting this (among others in here with incredible advice), I know it was a while ago but it helped me with looking for parts. I also have a 2015 Canadian Autobahn but no fender audio, just whatever the default sound system was. How do I know what amplifier I have (if at all) to make sure the MIB unit is compatible? Is the 3G0 035 047 your recommendation for our region? I've also seen 3Q0 035 876B as another option as well. Thanks in advance.
Just to add, you mentioned you managed to maintain an accessory mode and forgive me if I'm reading it wrong, but what part of your troubleshooting helped you solve it?
Regardless, if you do not have the Fender sound system for whatever reason, the sound output would have been analog direct from the head unit from the A multipin connector in lieu of the Fender Amp located under the Driver's seat.
If you want as close to OEM and region correct for MIB2 Discover Pro then 3G0 035 047 is your only choice. MIB2.5 Discover Pro gives you one more part number (5NA035026#) but it is just as scarce and it will not work with the screen you just picked up. If you can live without the benefits of Discover Pro (faster processor, AID map on both center console and cluster, internal storage) you can look for a discover media headunit (3G0 035 8##) or if you don't care for Sirius XM radio for satellite radio or traffic then you can go for any 3G0 035 0## ROW discover pro headunit both of which will work with the screen you just picked up.
EDIT: I forgot to answer the last point, there is no true accessory mode. MIB2/2.5 does give you continued radio/bluetooth after ignition is shut off until the driver's side door is opened. But if you want to run the radio when you first get in the car you either have to push the radio power button and remember to shut it off before you leave (which leaves your radio off on next start) or run your car stalled and shut off your AC and headlights so you don't kill your battery just to listen to some tunes. -_-"
