JB4 Logging, stacking and Map 6 Discussion

Great results for GTI IS38 JB4 this weekend. 2 cars with similar hardware, both without IC or WMI.

The cars were passed on the dyno on the same Saturday morning.

IS38 JB4:

IS38 APR 98Ron:

Looking forward to the IS38 Upgrade in my car.

The older 6b firmware seemed to help based on limited data. That person sorta disappeared though so not sure if it was the right solution. I know the older firmware has some low speed hiccups people complained about so perhaps you trade performance for driveability and people don't want that. Raising FOL won't help.

@Jambroni What firmware are you running, your Cupra is an OPF DQ381 right? AWD wagon though but probably the fastest JB4 only one at that.

Yes correct, OPF DQ381 Cupra ST (wagon) AWD.

I've been testing the Alpha for a while but I generally run the Stable (8.5.1). The only mods I have are drilled air duct mod and the MST full air intake with oversized turbo inlet and hose. Car runs stock hardware otherwise. Map 6 peak boost at 7.5 with E25 mix. I ran lower boost in summer.

Best Dragy verified times are 0-60 mph in 3.71s and 1/4 in 11.92s using LC. Best 100-200 km/h was 10.12s from a while ago, it is usually in the mid 10s on good runs although I've not made any proper attempts to break it since spring. Stock wheels and crappy Conti tyres even. Not sure if it's the fastest but it's not bad for being a (comparatively) heavy AWD running close to stock hardware.

Interesting, I have just loaded that FW so I'll do some tests on my car, it's a late 2019.

See if it will allow trims to adjust.

Yes. Not had time to log but will do, the car feels at least as strong as the other firmwares and it feels like there are less throttle and timing corrections. But we'll see.

I just did an uphill 10.9s 100-200 run, first try and at a 0.87% slope so performance definitely is there, even have some cargo in the car. Perhaps a little rough idle like you said but not too bad. Very strong in the 70-150 km/h range too. I like.

Edit: Plus I left a new G31 BMW M550D for dead who was up my ass, he was not happy. Lol.

Looks like you are hitting a trim cealing and leaning out, have seen this issue on a few other IS38 OPF cars. Try raising FOL but if that does not help you have to turn it down.

I think @Diggs24 helped somebody with the same issue but not sure if they found a way around it.

The truth is that with my current configuration, the car is quite fast.

But I don't really know what the limit of JB4 is

It is on a par with a stage 2 from a local dealer.

I am currently on the latest firmware and my configuration is as follows:

Leon cupra 2019:

Downpipe decat and GPF delete
Intercooler wagner
R600 intake
Inlet pipe
Muffler delete

REDUX to 70

Your car has the same issue. 14 AFR at 6k isn't where you want to be for engine longevity.

Sure that is fast but the problem is that you are running out of fuel, see in the log trims hit a cealing and you start to lean out.

Try the older firmware either 60/65/5 or 60/85/5
