Installed front 12.5mm spacers with new front hub caps. Rear spacers have not been delivered and car goes to body shop tomorrow For Repairs anyways - rear spacers and caps will be installed when i get the Car back. Before and after photo

You would see lots of blowby in that area on the piston top too.

Could scoring on the walls and blow by on the piston be caused by a clogged injector (therefore running lean with more knock) on that cylinder?

Wouldn’t that pop a CEL/EPC for lean condition? I guess a cylinder can have a “clogged injector” but not run lean? Anything to look for in logs to determine if a specific cylinder is running lean?

It reads the exhaust in aggregate. Clogged injector would give you excessive knock in that cylinder. Plug would look leaner than the others too.

Rear main, clutch, transmission installed, and subframe bolted back up.

I did have to get a little redneck creative to lift the trans up. Really didn’t feel like muscling it in, or balancing on the jack. It actually worked remarkably well. Just ratcheted the straps up, once it was level I just did the whole wobble, and it slid right on. Then bolting it in place was super simple.

Right up there with the 2x4 method.

This is what I did like 18 months ago. I made exactly one try and bench pressing it and decided the hell with that noise. I'm not weak but it was so awkward I figured why not use science instead of brute force.

I did use a jack underneath to lift it as I took up the slack on the straps. Lots of increasingly smaller micro adjustments to line it up. I think it took about 30 minutes.

Trying to decide if I feel like doing it again. The RSR clutch seems like it may be losing the battle vs the IS38 / E48 tune. I feel weird vibrations and a lack of "grab" sometimes. It's not the typical high rev slip - hard to explain. It only happens when being really aggressive.

I think he means sold, then buy an S4, then buy another mk7 or two after selling the S4.
