What did you do to your mk7 today?

No, my pods are fully connected to the apillar only. The triangle would be a nice area to get a good fiberglass sealed enclosure for sure, but with the range I plan for these 3.5” speakers will be fine with just a non. Sealed setup (doing a 4 way upfront with a front woofer for 45-95hz range.)
Gotcha... did you buy the kick pods from (someone here) a while back? I'm excited about getting the M25s installed, and the JLs in the doors... if the TM65s go on sale again maybe I can go full SI up front.

And finally semi-serious messing around with the AudioControl D-4.800. I'm sure it's capable of waaaayyy more than I'll get out of it but it least I can see how it drives some decent speakers.

Your LCD climatronic panel is on the way to him, tell him he owes you a favor!

Fr tho, thanks for sending it over. You saved me $200 to figure out I didn't like it in my car. Because eventually I would have bought my own.
Maybe I'll set up one of those threads people set up to borrow things, like the Helix dingle.

Except this LCD can just go from person to person so they can confirm they don't like it! If anybody keeps it for more than 120 days they have to send each of us $75...

Mine for the initial purchase in yours for actually providing some feedback 🤣.

Speaking of which, did you get a hold of anybody over there that could help with the store logo problem?

I had just asked if there was a way to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, got told no.

I got the dash pods (only houses a 3.5” mid driver, and from the guy who built them he ended up taping a tweeter pod to the top in the end cause the sound was still missing the highs clearly lol) they are def, awesome pieces but still require a tweeter pod built into the apillar. Plus they were built with function first so they are rather beefy and not all that attractive on the dash due to not being symmetrically aimed (as they shouldn’t for true function)

He also gave me his killer sub box, but I’m not gonna use that either anymore since I’m going to do a IB setup with as big as a woofer I can fit for super duper lows lol.

Looking into sound systems and was thinking about this exact trunk setup so I don't lose the spare. Who made this for you if you don't mind me asking? Will def be saving this pic to show my friend that does sound systems professionally.

This guy made it for himself - I just got it from him when he decided to switch to a m4 car from his golf R, lol.

If you’re just wanted better sound all around and not needed big Heavy bass, just do the helix spare tire setup for an easy swap so you don’t have to mess with all the cars speakers. Adding a big sub does give you great bass but the factory doors speakers and tweets in the base system sucks with the headunit power and quickly get overpowered by even a 10” so you’ll head down the rabbit hole real quick.

Debating whether or not I want to jump down the rabbit hole regarding all the possibilities. Would love to have some crazy sound system. I had Fender in my White GTI, I'd be happy to have that again. Constantly finding myself trying to turn on the stock system because it's just not loud enough.

Yeah this will get you to that factory fender level, with the little subs and Juicing and cleaning up the door speakers.

I added a helix sub and it’s a big improvement over stock without dumping a ton of money.

Sound improvements are my next project if I can ever get this wing, bumper and headlights done. Being 100+ outside does not help.

Oil change, spark plugs & swept out the interior. Still going strong at 142,500 miles.

Needs a set of tires soon (although they still did great in the tropical storm) since they’re all 3 or 4/32, a vented oil cap o-ring & oil level sensor o-ring is starting to weep just a little.

Something to be said about MPSAS4 still performing better than most tires do brand new at the end of their lifecycle. I cannot recommend them enough for a daily driver tire (200TW on another set for shenanigans).
