Heading out of town for work and don’t want to find another scratch that the kids don’t know how it got there…still fits like a glove even with the iSweep wing.

@El_bigote_AJ Not serious but also very serious question... how much would you charge to do a second set?

I've got spare pillars and set of of M25s, and some money in my pocket. I'll have to look but I'm pretty sure you sent me a link to the ebay pillar pod additions.

I see the TM65s are back in stock 🤤, as are the M3s 🤤 but I'm sticking with 2 way and will use the JL ZR650s I picked up here on the forum.

HAHA!

I don't care what licenses the gentleman has... I am calling authorities of some type if I see that thing around me.
Of course, it has to be assumed that call will be intercepted/routed through that relay station and my location pinpointed... you know what... carry on @StealthGTI, I don't want any problems .
Good one! I was once approached in a national park by park rangers, Navy police, and NCIS, all within 30 minutes. The park rangers knew me already, but had an obligation to respond to a report of a "suspicious vehicle." They said hello, had a little chit-chat, and left. The Navy police approached and observed, but then left after I acknowledge their presence (but I didn't leave). NCIS asked what I was doing, said they would investigate me after photographing my plate, and left. I was parked in a designated parking area that's about three miles up the river from an ammunition pier and still operate there most days.

In a separate but related encounter, since I was on my way to that parking area, I entered a Starbucks where the staff knew me. I had been parked behind the store to sort out some radio and computer stuff before going inside. Apparently, someone in the drive-thru made a HUGE production about their payment method: CASH ONLY - "I'm not using my credit card or app because someone is behind the store in a strange car." As you know, all of the best data skimmers use GIGANTIC vehicle-mounted arrays! I imagine the staff smiled, said "Thank you," and then blew her off. I have no idea if she called the police. I had somewhere to be and wasn't compelled to wait around. I'm not hard to find. :ROFLMAO:

My car has been photographed MANY times by the police, sometimes in a way that would be illegal for any of us to do, but I've never been stopped. I don't think they want to deal with whatever mess is in or on my car. My running joke is, "Police turn onto side streets when they see me coming." Even this officer steered clear, even though the point of the exhibition was to approach and learn.

Changed batteries in both key fobs. One has been dead for about a year, the other one gave out over the weekend while I was trying to lower the windows. Got in the car, hit the button for acc and pressed the window button and... nothing. Looked over the instrument cluster and rolled my eyes. Oh well, they were due and now they both work again.

I don't have Kessy. Still on original battery from 2016 I think. At least can't remember ever changing.

No idea where my 2nd key is. Wife wanted it for emegencies & it's in a black hole somewhere

Several of you know me outside the forum and have heard I'm moving to the greater Cleveland area. It costs $3500 to ship a car from here to Ohio so I sadly sold my minty fresh Mk4 TDI to an A&P mechanic on Oahu. Today I ran all the spare Mk4 parts I had to his container in Kona.

Since it takes 3-4 weeks to get a car to the mainland from here I started looking for another daily/project. I had basically given up hope when last night my dad sent me a one of my dream cars, a 2007 GTI Fahrenheit. The ad included some vague pictures and not much info so I expected a slew of issues. Since it was only 20 minutes from my parents I asked my dad to check it out for me. It turned out to be a meticulously kept accident free original owner car with 206,000 miles! (He had a long commute). Needless to say I bought it. I'll be flying into Tampa on 8/16 and will be roadtripping up the east coast in it. I'd love to get a small group together for the dragon while I pass through.

Nice score on the MK5!
I always wanted a GLI Fahrenheit (since you only got the DSG in the GTI version).

Was the Hawaii move always supposed to be temporary, btw?
Has it been 1 year or 2 years?

Funny, was driving next to a platinum grey MK5 Golf with the 5 cylinder. She rolled down her window to compliment mine & say how much she loved hers and how reliable it's been.

Told her I love the 5 cylinder. She had no idea it was.

Haha, you know I do still have the tweeter only pods sitting in the bin with the other car audio parts… I bet those can be fitting with out even needing to fiberglass anything… but they would still need to get wrapped and I’ve not even found the right material yet let alone attempted to wrap 😂

I thought you were running pods in that little triangle window. I ordered the little tweeter ones for the pillar yesterday.

Can you send a picture of what you have? If they are different (or better) looking than what I ordered I'll buy them off you.

I would agree though... doesn't look like fiberglass should be needed. I'm definitely not doing any fiberglass. Those days are done. If it requires fiberglass it will be outsourced at which point I will also let them figure out a fabric match.

No, my pods are fully connected to the apillar only. The triangle would be a nice area to get a good fiberglass sealed enclosure for sure, but with the range I plan for these 3.5” speakers will be fine with just a non. Sealed setup (doing a 4 way upfront with a front woofer for 45-95hz range.)

Your LCD climatronic panel is on the way to him, tell him he owes you a favor!

Fr tho, thanks for sending it over. You saved me $200 to figure out I didn't like it in my car. Because eventually I would have bought my own.
