JB4 Logging, stacking and Map 6 Discussion

Question, one of the logs has no timing adjustments and the other shows pull on Ign_2 and Ign_4. The runs were done 5 mins apart, so why would one log be clean and the other not? Is the goal to eliminate all timing pull or is some acceptable? Note - These are the same logs (i.e. no additional reduction of 1 from 1500-4500 yet), which were posted earlier this afternoon.

CC- what year car and other mods? You may have to take even more away down low. Early ECUs use a more aggressive torque targeting profile that depends heavily on the knock sensor. This makes it very "sensitive" to knock and sometimes hard jolts from road surface or wheelspin are interpreted as knock and can cause minor corrections.

2 things that caused mine were spin and floppy motor/trans mounts. Once I took away the boost hit down low (ie; <3 psi), and changed mounts, I no longer get these corrections.

I have a 2016 with a AFE drop-in dry filter and a APR downpipe (and, obviously, a JB4).

I was working with George and he had me drop 1 up top too because we had a few warm days here and, on those days, I thru a 3AD2 with the higher settings. Overall I'm down about 1 PSI from 1500-6000, but I'm thinking about taking 3500 up to 4 and 4000 to 4.5, which will put the low end on par with Map 2.

The settings used for https://datazap.me/u/ccar5458/map-6-lower-settings?log=0&data=1-2-3-4-11were:

1500 0
2000 2
2500 3
3000 3
3500 3.5
4000 4
4500 5.5
5000 6
5500 6
6000 6
6500 5
7000 5

Map 2 can be found here - https://datazap.me/u/ccar5458/map-2-12162019-0?log=0&data=1-4

Thats about where my settings are and I get similar results. I do however get consistent 10-10.5 advance up top. What is your boost safety at? FOL? Version? And do you have 6-cyl set to 1? If you want to maintain what ya got (or possibly increase advance), especially when it gets warm again, add some E85 and get an intercooler.

Did some logging as it's been a while, wanted to see how the car was doing in cold temps.

Seeing some wild AFR numbers, trims hitting the ceiling pretty quickly and some timing pull.

You ever try additive when temps get cold? Not getting anywhere near target and seems to be why you're seriously running out of fuel.

No I have not run additive, always absolute. I do recall reading that it's worth the switch during seasons. Fuel in the tank is Costco 91.

It's definitely been fun to tweak it to support it as best as it can, but the reality is it can only do so much. I did however gap a TTRS the other day with those settings from a 3rd gear roll which put a smile on my face.

I'm at a limbo between swapping back the IS20 and keeping the JB4 or just going all out and getting a pro-tune.

Edit: Wow, post #9000. Just ordered an AP, will likely be going to EQT as he seems to have the IS38 dialed in the most.
