Hello friends
I have a noise when the turbo is charging hard between 3000/4500 rpm for 1/2 seconds. "the noise looks like a beep"
at 5000/6500 trs the car no longer makes the noise
I thought about a wastergate problem
ideas ? pcv? wastergate?
the car drives very well and without cell
have a good day

Ok diggs, thanks you
my wastergate can not be the cause of the noise and the fault? how to control it?
He is saying if you have a boost leak the wastegate will close more. Not that the wastegate is the problem.

Go to a shop and have them ride in the car with you to hear it.

thank you
I actually replaced the intercooler with a forge 5000km ago
is your leak on the hot or cold side boost circuit?
All I did was tighten my intake clamps, so that’d be the cold side. It’s an air induction noise so most likely nothing to do with the hot side. There’s about a post a month like this on the various facebook groups.

Similar sound on mine that is annoying as f but I've learned to live with it. I posted the below back in Sept. Still have noise. The car in that Youtube clip is not my car but noise is very similar.
After this post below I took it to my shop here in Denver that ran pressure + smoke tests...nothing. Their log w/ VCDS - https://datazap.me/u/quattrowerksatt1/log-1601566199?log=0&data=0-4-5
Car runs perfect(other than damn noise), all subsequent logs look great (confirmed by Nick @ EQT), dyno #"s were solid after all my Vortex tunes were done.
I have found other youtube vids etc that indicated a simple intake change solved the issue. Something about maybe some weird harmonics come into play depending on your set up (mine...R600 (cotton filter but did it w foam 2)to MST TIP to Vortex std) Havent bothered to swap back on stock airbox to see if it goes away.

Not sure if this will help. I had this same noise when I went is38. I am running an IE v2 intake and IE turbo inlet pipe which I had before going is38. So far I tracked it to the turbo inlet pipe. If I put the stock one back on the noise goes away completely. I put the IE inlet pipe back on and the noise comes right back. I even bought a 034 turbo inlet pipe to try and it makes the same noise. I think you are onto something with the harmonics.
