GTI Exhaust tips

I'm looking to go this route also but I'm torn between the chrome and the black tips.

They'll be black after a short while anyway. If I was doing it again, I'd still go chrome though. They look so good when they're clean.

Does anyone know if the JST139 exhaust tips fit on the MK7.5 GTI? They look great and 4 inches fill the space perfectly.

yeah the opening will fit a 4" with ease and they are weld-ons, so yeah you can make them fit.
I just ordered some 2.5 to 4" tips (different ones) but they are 7" in length so I'm not sure they will fit with the factory box just yet, but I am not to worked about it since I think I'm just going to have a custom shop do a muffler delete anyways.

Go black and don't go back. These are just screw on tips tho from BMS...

Sweet, Thanks! Yeah I try and notice every other golf around town as well. I’m sure it was mine, not sure there is any other unrano grays that have been modded around town and there’s only been around a single handful of them even sold at local dealers.

bumping this thread to ask: anyone had luck replacing the CSS muffler tips yet? The chrome is starting to fail on mine and its bumming me out (been on the car since September of '18). A quick measurement with a strip of paper and a pencil shows that the pipe leading up to the tips is the same diameter as the stock muffler. although the length is a bit different, the CSS tips are longer overall (~1.25") and seem to both poke out more than stock and start further under the valence than stock. hoping to find something similar in appearance, like straight cut 4" tips with a rolled edge in straight stainless steel, no chrome to get pitted by the carbon over time.

So I'm still seeing conflicting information. What is the correct inlet size for the tips? 2.5" or 2.25". Looking at getting the AliExpress Akrapovics, but want to ensure I buy the proper size.
