R noises (soundaktor disabled)

Mine has gear whine in first and 2nd but after that I can't really hear it. Flaps are only open in race as far as I know.

My 6MT makes the gear whine sound in 2 and 3 gears. It is faint enough that I can only hear it when radio is off. Starts around 2000 rpm and can hear it up to about 3500 rpm.

I assumed it is the turbo. Is it something else?

I disconnected mine for most of a day. My 14 y/o daughter hated it w/o, and I honestly rely on it to tell me when my foot's getting too heavy. Thus, while I enjoyed hearing the natural state of the intake and exhaust noise, it was plugged back in that night.

If I ever get a hold of a VCDS, I'll have it turned down, however.

It is quietest in Comfort mode, either way, so for long trips, just avoid Normal.

Only two modes, Normal and Sport.
