NAR 2021 Maps Available for Download for MST2 (MIB2)

A tutorial for anyone feeling brave. For myself I have no issues with the current software so I won't risk having issues. The comments show people that have had success.

Hi all, hopping on this bandwagon. Can anyone confirm if I have the correct update file?

My current version is 0751 with SW Train MST2_US_VW_P0628D.
I believe the correct version to download is MST2_US_VW_P0867D_MU0867

HI,
Tried to update my maps on a 2016 GTI. Backed up the original maps to my computer, formatted the card to FAT and attempted to copy over the new map set. Apparently my original card is 16gb. the 01 folder copies over fine but only leaves 89.6mb free so there isn't enough room for the 160mb ECC folder.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

According to the internet, go to the folder \maps\00\sds and remove unwanted speech sound files (e.g. FR french, DE german, ES spanish, FI finnish, etc.) - that should free up enough space for the files to fit on your SD.

Did you use the original VW SD card that the maps were loaded on?

Yes. I've also patched out the CID check, and ran a few experiments:
1) Copy old map (~2015) to another SD card - works.
2) Copy new map (2020) to VW SD card - fails.
3) Copy new map (2020) to another SD card - fails.

I suppose the navigation software might be too old.

Last thing I can think of is to delete the language files you don't need in case the card is short of space. Crap, nevermind...you posted about that.
