Threads with good info don't go sideways. This thread is full of bad infoIt would be awesome to have a thread full of great info that doesn’t go sideways.
Interesting. For comparison, with the IS20, it's usually 12-16F above ambient and doesn't tick up so much at the end. This turbo is larger than an IS38, but it's a data point for the CTS FMIC. This is the first 4 pulls of 12 that were made. The temperature difference between the IAT at 6k RPM and ambient at the end was around 17-18F.

IS38 is not big enough, you need to go bigger.this thread makes me feel good about my choices so far and long term plans. Sounds like IS38 is a good stopping point for staying 'reasonable', at least to the point of having more power than stock without going miles down the rabbit hole of chasing numbers and winding up with a car that's frustrating to own.
Racekar !!IS38 is not big enough, you need to go bigger.
since when did you start taking vendors at their word? How is saying that ECS and DBV2 show examples of how the ECS FMIC performs misinformation? ECS Chart and DBV2 Chart.
What does the flow bench have to do with providing Nerdy Oreo with information about how the ECS FMIC performs?
That summary chart may provide some helpful information if Nerdy Oreo had stated Track Driving was a goal, but I didn't get that from the information provided. As Note #4 indicates - "These are from 200 second samples on track under highest ECT/Oil temps - and may not accurately reflect on street performance (resistance to heat soak at lights, etc.)"
I think it's important to account for the intended operating conditions when recommending a product.
It's never big enough, you'll always want more.IS38 is not big enough, you need to go bigger.
