All relevant info in the first 4 posts....

This from post 3
Item No.8A:- N 90362001, “O” ring £2.48 (x1) (only required for the MQ250 gearboxes

It depends on your exact gearbox code....as they are all slightly different

Ready to race!
The reason for the change in name is also the reason why we have an unusable oil filler/level plug on the front of the case! When these gearboxes were designed the gearbox case was mated to an engine which was tilted towards the front of the car, now ALL engines are tilted towards the rear of the car by 12deg! Therefore the old fill/level plug is now pointing towards the bonnet & if you try to use this as the correct "level" you will overfill the gearbox with oil!!

I think you have that backwards. The front of the engines are now tilted downwards, therefore the old fill/level plug is now pointing towards the ground, & if you try to use this as the correct "level" you will UNDERfill the gearbox with oil. See the VW technical bulletin at: https://www.myturbodiesel.com/d2/images/pdf/a5translevel.pdf

I quoted from the VW Erwin Self-study guide on the EA211 Engines....screenshot below..as you will note, now for MQB all engines are 12deg tilted backwards towards the bulkhead.....

Before MQB some engines were tilted forwards & some backwards....also some had the exhaust manifold on the front side (radiator) of the engine & some had it on the back (bulkhead) side of the engine...this requiring those with the exhaust manifold on the front side to have a different subframe to allow the exhaust to clear under the subframe in a special arched section...

Now with MQB platform all engines have the exhaust on the rear (bulkhead) side of the engine...
