Okay, so i did the Map 0 log, however, I think my buddy messed it up when he was pulling the start log button but its there. I think switched to Map 6 with the settings you recommended to try. I set FOL to 70, 6cyl to 1, and boost safety to 20. I'm unsure how to/where to fix the ign issue you mentioned (im still new to the JB4 tuning). Also, earlier in the day, I did notice that around 800-1500 rpm my car vibrates a lot more as im accelerating, and disappears as it goes on, thought i'd mention this as it might be an exhaust leak. Finally, I read my codes because i have a CEL, and I had P010132 (could not find anything on it) and P0000. If you know anything about these codes it'd be great to know.

try these settings as your IGN1 one is dipping, and report back ,we need to improve the ign1 timing.
Besides that you see if u enable IGN1 on datazap site it shows at 6k rpms your peaking 13.5 ign1(map 0) , higher octane will achieve higher timing. I understand your reasoning for 91 thou... but aim for 13.5 or better when your running your tune... As well map 6 log 1 shows dip around 4.8k rpms but recovers we want to remove that dip in ign1, by lowering boost.... map 6 log 2 u see a dip around 4.2k and recovers at 5k rpms, what you would do here is lower by 1 psi to see how it reacts.... and a timing advance of 12.5 at 6k rpms which is good were getting close.


u want peak psi to reach by 3.5k/4k rpm ... as the turbo looses efficiency at this point especially with lower octane.(Even higher octane you can only push so hard on this small turbo)

Hey, I havent done any logs yet with the new Map 6, but i noticed that on this JB4, it was bought used, Boost additive is set to 84, signal scaling 84, mini flow boost 9.8, virtual sensor offset 84, enabled 84, min RPM 21844, Max rpm 21844, min tps 84, min gear 84, min advance 8.4, min AFR 8.4 are these values supposed to be set? could they be causing issues? also i noticed that as my car idles it goes from 700 rpm to 850 every few seconds and the car vibrates, any idea on what that might be???

However, i noticed when i would enter the boost values, and hit save, the boost for rpms 1500-2500, 6000, and 7000 would add .1 to the number you told me to enter. Just curious if that is supposed to happen, because the other values stayed as they should have. Also, don't know if you read the post i posted before this one.

map 6 logs look good... still a 4k small dip(not a big concern) but whatever try these. But besides that looks good you even hit 14 ign1 timing! at 6k rpm !

Havent had the chance to try this map 6 out yet. It snowed hard so roads are still a little sketchy. I’ll try this map 6 along with a Map 6 my buddy had on his car when he had his mk7 and ill send you the logs.

Your friends map is way too aggressive. 91 octane stinks and you have to dial everything back. The one from Chris is way better, but even that has you dipping too much. I would change the 3,00 to 15 and then go 15.5, 15.5, 15, and then drop 0.5 psi on up from there. Don't get hung up on boost numbers. You want the timing to be a steady climb. You want to see 10-11 degrees at 5,000 and 17-18 degrees at 6,500.

hey I agree , but is it possible to hit 17+ ign1 on 91 octane? I hit only 16.5-17 on a conservative tune with 94 octane. and mygolfisslow dial in the recommended settings(twindad) and report back.

Another thing you live in Ontario correct? Your settings will change come 20+ degrees Celsius because you can raise psi the warmer it gets . For example your stock tune might be pushing out 6-8 psi rn peak because of colder dense air , as some warmer air comes it will hit 10-12.

hey I agree , but is it possible to hit 17+ ign1 on 91 octane? I hit only 16.5-17 on a conservative tune with 94 octane. and mygolfisslow dial in the recommended settings(twindad) and report back.

It absolutely is if you lower the boost more.

i believe so thats what he suggested... in the summer these numbers can rise forsure how much maybe a psi or so depending on the RPM... but if your after PSI the summer will be your friends and enemy(heat soak)
