Bought a TCR Muffler for my US spec Mk7.5 GTI

Also exhaust and mufflers have a break in period. The sound can change drastically over the course a week or so.

Just remember that the TCR has OPF so that muffler will be a lot louder on non OPF cars.

Nope! No leak, used all OEM hardware and checked under the car while it was running.

Sounds pretty good, but def louder than the CSS muffler.

I don’t think it’s any different. Both need a resonator upgrade with a downpipe.

Sounds like it pops and crackles a bit more than the CSS, but maybe the one in the youtube video had an aftermarket downpipe

I dont disagree but I was hoping it would just me a more mild tone. Its almost straight piped. But with the stock cat back I used some sound deadening in the trunk and under the seats and removed 100% of the drone. $30 on amazon vs $200+ for new muffler installed.

If the TCR muffler is anything like the CSS muffler, there's almost no muffling lol.

Had that before, Catted/Resonated Downpipe + CSS muffler (on stock res) = almost as bad as straight-piped. An upgraded resonator is a must if you want to keep it somewhat civil below 2800RPM~
