It's harder now more than ever to make a decision on tunes......so many new options. For the money, I would say ED is probably the best bet
I personally would not get APR-anything. It's all snake oil marketing in my honest opinion and you can do better are trying to use fear-mongering and doubt to get the sale. Tell that APR dealer to put it into writing that they will honor your full warranty if your APR tune blows the engine. They won't.
Just mindless chatter here, but if I had to guess, I'd say the factory (s) tune out the characteristic load peak at low rpm common to small turbos (the natural load peak would always be somewhere, but on your basic 2L factory turbo it's always in the low rpm range) with throttle mapping. Basically just putting in a reverse curve to counter the load peak. Even if that's not how they achieve it, it's obvious looking at stock dynos vs. ecu tuned, that something is up - like the torque curve at low rpmI'm no APR fan boy, but no tuner would do this. They do make good parts, but I have no say on their tunes. They use high boost for the kick of your pants low down, which is not my style. The poster wants reliability first and foremost so I'd go Uni or JB1/4 personally. ED is good but support sucks. I think Cobb is a safe bet as well and can mature if he decides to do more.
The vast majority of the country Colombia is FAR below 9000 ft above sea level. Especially along the coastOh and Columbia is at 9000 ft. above sea level.
I personally plan to see what Cobb ends up offering for my 2017 PP.Cobb should be out soon, I would wait it out so you have all options infront of you. I went from ED to cobb and couldn't be happier. ED was great, but Cobb suits my needs better. If I wasn't so impatient months ago, I would have just waited for Cobb...O well lol.
Thank you - Luigi
