$2500 to get an insurance on my GTI?????

I just switched from '08 Mazdaspeed 3 to a '17 GTI and was surprised that my rate went up roughly 20%. I presume that it's considered higher risk, and parts are more expensive.

I'd change it to there is no way to easily compare quotes.

drivers/coverage/location all affect your rates. Even your education (ie grad or not) will affect your rates. Each insurer rates these things different. Get multiple quotes from different sellers (oh yeah slow down AND stay in school)

Credit rating impacts it as well. It's like car purchase taxes. It is what it is. Don't like it? Move.

+1 You are probably in the highest risk group in general.

I pay 2K every 6 months for 4 cars but i'm mid 30's, own a house, clean record, tier 1 credit etc.

Strange, I report for duty every day on an installation with TENS of thousands of servicemembers and nearly all of us drive our cars every day.
