I guess I'll update my post:
2015 (purchased new in 2015) just a couple of hundred miles short of 70,000.
At eight years in, this is far and away the longest I've ever owned a car.
Not only that, but before this MK7 I had a MK6 for four years or so.
My son's (twins) have gone from six years old and riding in a booster seat, to 21 years old and driving their own cars while I've had GTI's.

I kind of like the second option too...

As do i. It's just gonna be tough to justify a bunch of money on an Arteon when the whole point of a 2nd car is to get a "beater" to relieve daily driver duties from the Touareg. But we'll see... I'm 29, got 2 promotions in the last 14 months, am almost debt free and my partner and i are not having children so i get the freedom to be as irresponsible as i want to be lol.

We'll see how the Arteons depreciate. They are likely the last halo car VW will ever sell in America, so for the legacy VW heads I imagine a low mileage garage queen Arteon will be a solid investment. Low depreciation, if not appreciation.

75k miles, ~5k of that on a track. Like many early 2015s had the turbo wastegate actuator issue. Completely seized up around 60k miles. Replaced with a rebuilt is20 with an updated wastegate actuator and been fine since. Other than that no real issues. But I've got a a handful of things that need to be done when the weather gets better. And I should probably replace the original battery.

Woah, you are in a different club, you need to post here: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/inde...-champ-anyone-over-100-000-or-200-000.374669/

You may be the high mileage champion actually... 175k mi / 280k km, I don't think anyone has reported mileage that high here... any issues?
There must be someone in the 200k mile club. My buddy actually has another 2016GTI with 160k miles.

Lots of issues but almost all were self inflicted from modding. Still the original motor and water pump lol. I’ve been is38+ swapped for around 75k miles. Currently running sneaky 93 and e48 files.

It’s had a new trans put in @40000 due to an accident before my ownership. Clutch was done preventatively while everything was apart. Injectors replaced preventatively and carbon cleaned @87000. Plugs replaced every 10k ish. Oil changed every 5k with liquimoly 5w40. I love this car
