which part doesn't work?
I just want to poke holes in it to get some sound out of it instead of paying way too much money for an open air intake

The problem is that you get a lot of hot air that will affect the ram air that inputs cold air to the engine. If you put pipes from the holes that you made to the grill maybe it works, because you will have a lot of cold air

If you want a lot of noise disconnect the exhaust between downpipe and catback

just got a stock box from another member, $75 shipped to me, so going to swiss cheese it to death and leave the k&n drop in
hoping for zero gains but a bit more sound!

will do if it works out lol

I want to keep a stock one with stock filter & snow catcher for winter & lease return, then have the swiss cheese, snow catcher removed, K&N drop in for summer & sound (hoping for sound lol)

Do you have a turbo muffler delete? That makes a big difference to the intake turbo whoosh sound and can only add to the sound you'll be getting from a swissed intake.
