what is the third unit in the box besides the screen and the vektor unit? Mine did not come with that?

Looks like the GPS interface to pull the signal from the OEM GPS antenna on the car if fitted???

I still haven't ordered mine yet....holding off to spend the money on a remap & possibly a MIB2.5 swap..

It is the GNNS (GPS/Galileo/Glonass) adapter modul that is put between original GPS antenna and the vector unit so you can use the originally installed antenna which is very powerful. You get it it only when your car has already navigation system (Media or Discovery Pro) installed. If your Golf 7 does not have navigation system then you get a good GPS Antenna when buying from www.kolbenkraft-tuning.com.
You can choose when ordering.

Yes, absolutely true
