I would love a thick steering wheel with Alcantara.

Had one built.

Ecstuning sells an Alcantara one, I believe it's the club sport one but it's not thicker.

Yes the one I pictured above I had custom made, they sculpt it and thicken it.

It's a pain in the ass though as it takes 30 days to get done and your best finding a core wheel to send to them, like I did. I've started buying cores now so I can send them over to be made. It's just time consuming and a little pricy but I don't like the Mk7 wheel at all and missed my mk6 gti one a ton.

Right now they aren't doing alcantara, trying to get them to offer that as an option. They are huge in the carbon market and that's their preferred offering but they will do perforated leather and regular leather too.

Peter can't offer Alcantera?? Are you sure?? Most of his work is with alcantera..

Yes, of course. They make R steering wheels for R
Golfs with ACC and they make R steering wheels for
Rs without ACC. That's exactly what you wanted to
hear, right?

Why don't you get a Clubsport wheel? Don't tell me
you've never seen one on pictures at least. Tons of
aftermarket alternatives though, just did a Google
search for you, since you obviously never heard of
that strictly secret machine called Google:
