Plugged RS4 , 265 RS4, or RE71R for track day

So recently got a couple of screws in my 255 RS4 close to shoulder. I had it plugged at discount tire. Have not used it yet as I had my AutoX set (RE71R) on.

Have a track day coming up next Sunday. 5 x 25 min sessions

Which should I use

1) Plugged RS4 (255)
2) Buy 2 new RS4 for front in 265. 255 not available and not sure if 265 are too big & if cause too much oversteer on a pretty high speed track
3) Use my AutoX setup RE71R. I know they will wear out quickly which sucks, but will they even make it. Texas, still warm here.

I'd use the plugged rs4 if it were me

I mean that's what my wallet really wanted to hear.

In a way just looking for confirmation of my pick 😁

That's a tough call. 255 would likely be too wide if you are running much negative camber. If you suddenly begin losing air during a session, that could set up a dangerous situation. I assume you do not have an aftermarket tire pressure monitoring system. Is there any possibility of getting the tire patched from the inside?

I am already running 255 and have run 265, so not too wide.
Don't have tpms sensors.

Would a patch work better than a plug?

Yes, get it patched. I ran on 4 track days with a patched tire, and no problems. I would not personally run a track day on just a plugged tire.

Alright. Guess the consensus is to patch too. So I'll take it in to get that done

So how did it go?
It's this Sunday. If I'm not back on the forum within 24 hours, it didn't go well. 😁

I'm going to take my re71R as backup in case something happens
