I am looking for a part# for mystery bracket that holds muffler's heatshield on underside of the rear floor.

My body man lost this part, and the dealer can't find it in the catalogue. The dealer contacted VW parts specialist in Germany, and they can't find it either. It's attached to #6 on parts diagram.

Hoping someone knows part# or has a picture of the underside of the floor with removed heatshield.

I spent 1hr with the dealer in ETKA, and it's not listed anywhere :(
Well the 2nd pic is basically a Etka illustration so it has to exist somewhere no? It can't be that hard to find in the catalog. I'm going to look tomorrow I'm curious now.

Your bodyshop and dealer are questionable....

The bracket the heat shield is held in is 5Q0804509

The shield is held with 2 M8 bolts N0195307 one on bracket and on lower cross member and 2 M5 weld studs N90652602 one on floor pan and on the lower cross member

I don't believe your dealer contacted Germany more less a parts tech in Auburn Hills (855)282-3578, tell them hello from me

Dealers can't directly contact Germany either. So I thought that was weird they told him they reached out to Germany. They have to contact Vws tech support which they can reach out to Vw in Germany but dealers themselves cant. Etka is super easy to work with just don't understand how some people are vw parts employees but cant find shit in Etka. I totally forgot to look this up for him today while I was at work. Glad to see someone came through though.

They are capable of a surprising amount of nonsense. I had my BCM replaced by the dealer. They looked up the replacement part in etka, ordered it, and installed it.

They tell me my car is ready to pick up, I show up and fobs don't work, dashboard turns into a Christmas tree when I turn on the lights. They didn't go through me guided replacement which would have adapted the BCM to my car.

They told me that some things would never work because the part that was installed isn't the same part that came out of my car 🙄.

lol yes. There have been times where I’ve had to look a service manager straight in the eye and say, “Explain to me why anyone on your crew would ever say XYZ to a customer when that is clearly not how cars work?”

It’s astonishing how little care, honesty and pride people put into their chosen job sometimes.

The parts schematics for VWs have always been a little confusing. Each of the "aftermarket" OEM parts distributors use the same diagrams, but the parts are broken down oddly.

Many times I'll find parts on the diagram as part of a complete system with no number or information, only to find them on some other page where they don't intuitively belong. I really don't know why they do this, and it makes finding parts difficult sometimes.
