imo Tornado Red really sucks on this one 
I prefer the Red from Paris Motor Show.
I don't know if they both are Tornado Red but the concept looked different in my eyes, It could be only an illusion in my brain though

that is a radar to monitor the distance to the car in front of a GTI...this is part of ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) as well as BA (Brake Assist)

Yeah saw about it in a video on youtube, what are your thoughts on this, is the option worth having the ugly grille?

hmm I don't look at it this way "ugly". instead; whenever I see a car with one of those I think (wow! that car must have a lots of technologies underneath!)
It is on the top of my options list mainly for two reasons:
1. It could save my life by preventing an accident.
2.Bahrains' Highways is seldom empty, conventional cruise control isn't really effective here because you'll have to brake sooner then you thought....so an ACC will solve this by adjusting gas/brake and I'll just do the steering
don't get me wrong I love driving and I never get bored from it....just NOT on a crowded highway I will definitely get this if it is priced fairly

well, just watched a vid of the launch in Geneva Motor Show and have second thoughts It is a bit ugly LOL but it does more benefit than harm.
