Rented a 2021 Subaru Outback while visiting folks in CO….

SO happy to be back in what seems like a race car now……

buuuuuut……I did like the handling in snow a TON better in the subie….makes me want one again

My wife sold her 17 GLC 4 matic and went back to a 20 Outback, we've previously had 4. No denying the MB build quality is better, but it got stuck in packed sand on the beach the only time we took it to the beach. Embarrassing.

The Subaru handles way better, the MB was oddly nose heavy and ate front tires. The HK in the Subaru sounds better than the one in the MB. The fake leather in the MB didn't hold up very well. Subaru infotainment system is better. The MB was quick for a pedestrian SUV and had a great transmission, but my wife drives like a grandma anyway, so it was completely wasted.

We had Outbacks when we lived in CT and they're Billy goats in the snow. MB is a RWD that struggled to send power to the front when it was needed and wouldn't hold a gear.

After doing a full “build” as the kids say on a A4 Allroad that would be my realistically affordable wagon of choice.

If I somehow could afford one a RS6 Avant is the dream of course.

"We" have a GLC43 and that thing is a fucking beast. Handles everything you throw at it and then some - but it's fully packaged out: AMG Performance, night package, the works. Also handles ridiculously well for its size and kicks its back end out during spirited drives. I'm in love with it.
