LED Question

Guessing this is probably a “duh” question

I have a 2015 GTI Autobahn....how do I know whether my taillights are LED or standard?

Post a picture of them and we'll tell you. They're not LED unless someone has swapped them out already.

I had a 16 Autobahn and the tails were halogens. Swapped with deAutokey LED’s.

LED’s turn on and off instantly whereas halogens have a slower on/off speed.

The standard bulbs and USA OE housing has a C shape light to it. When the bulbs some on they are also slower on and off.

I have Deautoled bulbs in OE housing so they look similar but....
They have red LED so are a deeper red and they turn on and off faster and more crisp.

rear light with LED like the OE lights have many small LEDs that light up.
They are also bright.

Google, MK7 LED taillights and you should see some samples.

Yeah standard. USDM cars did not get LED's due to the amber signals being too small in surface area.
