CTS-V was ruled out a while back. The R should be here in 2 weeks. 
Must admit, I wasn't aware of the car... had to look it up.
.... can't argue with the performance stats on it but I think the look of it is..... hmm. you love it or you don't.

That is a heavily modified Lingenfelter CTS-V Coupe. Stock they don't look like that and I am guessing this person is eyeing the sedan as compared to the 4/5-Door Golf R (only choice in the US).

Good choice. I found myself consider similar propositions (B7 RS4 or B8 S4) and still keep coming back to the GTI/Golf R as it does some many things well and in tangent it's hard to beat.
The CTS-V sure is fast but other than that doesn't really offer a ton over the Golf R. It's not particularly high quality or 'refined' and gets terrible gas mileage, is heavy, RWD only, etc.
