Duly noted.

As I get more details, I will post. I also have a post in the track section of this forum.

Will it only be the wheel design in OP? Or other wheel designs as well?

Apex have to start somewhere. With support they are likely to expand the range. All depends on demand.

APEX WHEEL SURVEY

Folks, Apex Wheels is trying to get set up as a vendor on this forum. They have done so on VWVortex.

I am posting the following from Apex Raceparts:

Calling all VW enthusiasts

You’ve asked and we’ve listened. Over the past few years, we received countless requests from the VW community for APEX to produce our lightweight, strong, and affordable wheels in VW specific fitments. We couldn’t immediately dive into your market as our engineering and production resources were already at their limits on other projects. While we waited, our team spent a lot of time exploring options and getting ideas and feedback from passionate enthusiasts.

Our primary focus is to make sure we deliver kickass wheels to every market we service, and that they provide needed features beyond just a different aesthetic. With our focus turned to the VW market, we need your help ensuring we prioritize the features you want. Knowing your preferences on tire width, what big brake kits we need to clear, and how many of you will be dialing in negative camber has a big impact on our final barrel shape, widths, offsets, and so on. You can help determine what wheel designs, sizes and finish options we initially bring to market by taking our survey.

When you grab your next cup of coffee, could you take a minute to share your thoughts with us? We appreciate your feedback, and look forward to contributing to this community.

LEARN MORE ABOUT APEX
For those whom we have not yet had the pleasure of working with, since 2007, our focus at APEX has been to produce high-performance wheels with extreme durability and unprecedented value for the performance driving community. Combining proven Motorsport design features, vehicle specific optimizations, and advanced flow forming and forging technology, we've created wheels that have taken BMW performance driving enthusiasts by storm. As a grassroots Motorsport oriented company, comprised of a diverse group of auto enthusiasts, we understand that enthusiasts from all corners of the car community seek quality products at an affordable price point, and that these should not be mutually exclusive.

YOU ARE IN THE DRIVERS SEAT
APEX does not view the car community through a traditional lens. Since inception, this company has worked hand in hand with enthusiasts through many channels, but much of what we have accomplished stems from our unique ability to incorporate forum members into product development. Rather than sitting around a conference table internally brainstorming a list of products that we feel are relevant to a specific community, we have made it our mission to enlist enthusiasts in the decision making process. Tell us where the market is currently missing the mark for you, and how we can employ our core competencies to fill the current pitfalls. The action of putting enthusiasts at the forefront of product development ensures that APEX delivers satisfactory products.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
We guarantee a different customer experience. Car nuts come in all shapes and sizes, and it is imperative to recognize that enthusiasts have different priorities, as well as short and long term goals for their machines. It is not until our product specialists have completed a needs assessment, that we can suggest a valuable and meaningful solution to our customers. Anything less would be a disservice. Manufacturing wheels that complement the multitude of suspension, brakes, alignment settings and tires specifications instills confidence in our customer interactions.

SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO!
“All of this sounds great, but show me what you can do.” When track enthusiasts took delivery of their new BMW F8X M3/M4, they quickly realized that the standard 10” rear wheels were not cutting it, regardless of how sticky their 275mm wide tires were. Drivers had to cautiously modulate the throttle out of mid-corner with the threat of upsetting the car, and therefore lap times were not an accurate depiction of what this new powerful platform was capable of. Correspondence poured in from the community, and after some validation from the community, a lightweight EC-7 18x11” ET44 was born. A strong 18" wheel that offered enough brake clearance for the massive OEM BBK, check. Precise and proven width and offset to support a 305 or 315 r-compound or slick without extensive modifications, check!

The following article should give you an insight into our process, and our devotion to the details: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1182475"

is there any chance you could fit a 17" wheel over the PP GTI calipers?

My current track wheels are Neuspeed RSE 16’s 17x8.5 and they clear my 330x32 4-Piston PowerBrake BBK.

Apex wheels are designed to be BBK friendly. Their 17” wheels clear most 350/355 BBK’s for M3’s. I would expect the Apex wheels to clear the PP brakes but I’m not sure.

Edit: Just read the post on Enkei RPF1’s in 17x8 ET 40 clearing PP brakes.

My 17x8 Neuspeed RSE05 fit no problem back when I had PP brakes.

Not sure why people are deadset on wheels under 9" let alone 8". You can always run a less wide tire on 8.5, or 9, but going wider on a narrower wheel compromises sidewall tension. I voted for 18x9 since noone does 18x9 aside from a small, small handful of companies.

I’m down for 9” wheels but then the offset needs to be an ET40 to provide clearance to the strut and the fuel filler hose on the right rear foot the GTi.

R’s are good on the right rear for clearance but I would think they could also use some wiggle room on the front strut.

I’m currently running 18x8.5 ET45 with 255-35-18 MPS4S with no rubbing issues. My track setup is 255-40-17’s NT01’s on 17x8.5 ET45 and getting a slight rub on the inner right rear on the metal fuel filler guard.
