Exactly - I can understand upgrading to R parts if there is a practical advantage, but for pure aesthetics I just don't see the point. Retrofitting is so ridiculously expensive - how about amending your original posts with costs?

I've got R tail lights on my GTI because I like the darker tint. I sold my standard LED ones to "normal" Golf owner, the upgrade cost very little. Don't forget GTI parts are sought after too.
