Give up on Eurodyne?

I've been running Eurodyne for 7 years. Looking to get more out of my IS38 and APR IC. My car is a 6MT w/RSR clutch. Considering switching the Cobb/AP and EQT. The cost of this tune is holding me back. I'm unsure if it's worth it.

Here's a 3rd, 4th gear pull tonight on the Eurodyne IS38 adjustable set to 91oct and 26psi. Third gear looks great, 7.5* of advance but 4th pulled lots of timing. What the heck happened?

See log: https://datazap.me/u/napadirt/is38-...able-91-26psi?log=0&data=1-8-9-18-19-20-21-22

I’d need Maestro to do that, correct?

Is there really no magic sauce with EQT?

I could also change when it goes open loop with Maestro. I think it should run richer, sooner. It runs 1.0 lambda under full load at 4800rpm.

Lambda set points are very different in third vs fourth. Fourth constant 0.8 while third enriched gradually after 4800rpm. Strange.

Double down on Eurodyne with Maestro and a Power Tap Air or fork over $1500 to Cobb and EQT. Hmmm…

Are there good base files available?

Overactive knock sensors. Turn down the knock correction at least so it doesnt go straight to 3 degrees at a singe event.

Going Cobb is just giving away control and money. You won't be any faster.
Does anything else have spark-based TC yet?

Bought a Maestro seat tonight. Enjoyed the Maestro base IS38 file. If this is the starting pointing, I'm encouraged.

Took a number of pulls. At 24psi: 91, 93, 95oct; at 25psi: 95oct. It was a hot day--hit 93degF.

Edit:

One more log. Pushed my shift points up 300rpm, backed it off down to 95/24psi. IC got heat soaked in the garage. Looks like I maxed out advance in 3rd gear, but there's still a mid-range knock event and -3* timing pull. I definitely feel that.

Diggs24: How do I edit the knock event correction? What settings do you recommend?

Edit 2:

What's going on with lambda set point in that last log in third gear? It's bouncing all over the place. If the ECU wants to run 0.8 lambda at full load, why not just set it and forget? Stop messing with fuel. I hear/feel that inconsistency.

Another log with the ethanol content adjustable feature working. E85 ethanol content measured this morning at 90% so I left the ethanol content in the Maestro file set to the default 85%. Fuel in tank is E40 based on E85 to 91oct mix ratio.

Adjustable feature set to: 95oct, 24psi, 40% ethanol. Ambient: 100degF

Mid range knock in third on the second pull but timing pull isn't as high as I've seen on previous pulls. Per Maestro maps, the 95 octane set point will hit 12* of advance without IAT correction, or around 9* max with 50degC IAT. ECU hit 8.65* of max timing advance under these hot conditions, so roughly maxed. E85 FTW

California. Some regions broke temperature records for June today.

Days like today remind me that my APR intercooler might be my most important mod. Driving in hot weather is a reality for us. It’s a good idea to stress test your tune.
