Hey,

It's been a while since I looked at this topic. Nice to catch up.

Also since the battery was out for the DSG service, figured why not replace since it's over 4 years old. Went up a size to the H6 Interstate AGM from Costco. Changed the coding to match.

I have a battery coding video on my YT channel. Many Europeans posted comments stating that the proper setting for an AGM battery is "Fleece," not "Binary AGM." I don't understand that, but I figure it's a European term for an AGM battery. Perhaps someone can explain?

Also, regarding the serial number, instead of "1111111111", someone suggested using a date to represent the date instead. For example, today would be "0020220312." That method ensures that you'll always have an e-record of when the battery was last replaced. (y)

Did some looking and checked our Atlas - correct...."fleece" is it. Good idea on the serial number!

Quote from my old thread on this:-

How to retro-fit a bigger capacity battery to a Mk7 Golf | GOLFMK7 - VW GTI MKVII Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVII Forum

According to various sources of information, including numerous car scans & threads on Ross-Tech, "Fleece" is for standard AGM batteries, "EFB" is for standard EFB batteries, & "Wet" is for standard lead acid batteries, as these settings are used at the factory. The setting of "Binary - AGM" is apparently for specialist "Bipolar AGM" batteries!

Interior updates. New 3D Maxpider floor liner mats and Weathertech r. cargo area mat plus blocks. The 3Ds are really nice. $165 u-ace.com (also Amazon). The rubber VW Monster Mats were letting too many bits off and around the edges; the carpeted VW cargo area mat was looking haggard and the velcro blocks weren't sticking anymore.

Also picked up a $24 Drive cargo area organizer off Amazon. Cheap and effective plus has straps to keep it in place. Better than my stuff rolling around on the spare tire/under the floor making me think my r. diff or Haldex was going out! Also keeping my privacy cover stowed under the floor makes it so you can't use those nice side pockets. It folds flat when you aren't using it. Did a road rally this past weekend and like to have things handy. Can also secure it + contents with the VW cargo net.

AA Wireless. Works great. Hated that my Galaxy S21+ doesn't allow the cubby door to close. $100. Buy direct/info in pics.

Update on the H&R spacers...10mm up front/15mm out back. No rubbing on Contis/Apex setup....Michelin PS4AS on the APR wheels made a few noises in some extreme compression events. Fender screw mod completed. Also decided to remove the "Golf" and "TSI" badges but leave the 4Motion and Unitronic bits.

I made the leap, too!

I have a Note 20. Wired AA was great for about a year. Then, as with every other phone I've ever owned, the USB port must've started to wear and AA got really finicky, just about to the point where I wanted to light my car on fire and leave it. HAHA! I've learned to live without AA, but would welcome it back with a wireless solution. I ordered one of these AA Wireless devices about a week ago (April ship date?). I hope to see it within the next 30 days. I'll test it, review it, and perhaps get a May device for my wife to try. She's starting to have issues with her phone in her car, too.

Leyo DSG shift knob and climate control control knob rings. The knob is a great design and is super smooth with the bit you pull up. Really a nice looking bit for my interior as it's kind of plain. The rings for the radio didn't work (too big) but did work on our Atlas with the larger/nicer head unit so got to use them.

For you 4motion guys. Get some rear subframe inserts! I wouldn't bother paying a premium for 034s. Just get the CTS versions. You're welcome.
@ZuMBLe - could you run these with a r. deadset kit?

I don't see why not? The 034/CTS rear kit sits on top and the dead sets sit on the bottom (or other way around, depending on how you look at it). With that said, I never got my rear dead sets installed. They were supposed to be installed when I had my suspension done, but the shop made an executive decision not to install my rear inserts (they did the fronts) because I had the CTS inserts already. I didn't really care enough to argue since the CTS inserts already offered an improvement. I may still install the rear inserts one day.

The front dead sets def made the front feel more solid, the rear inserts did also.
