If you go the CS muffler route, why get a CS resonator instead of keeping the louder stock GTI one?
Pipe reducer?
CS resonator has the reducer built in so yes you need to use and fiddle with a reducer to be able to fit the CS muffler.
I was assuming that the install of a CS muffler would be the same as the install of the CSS muffler. Cut the pipe in the same marked location. Use a reducer instead of a coupler.
Correct?
I would imagine something like this would get the job done:

Not sure about sizing. After this, I guess you would need 2 clamps, one on each side? To clamp the reducer onto the muffler pipe and the resonator pipe.
Correct me if wrong.
That looks like a pricey one. I'd expect them to be closer to $10.

That is my non-expert understanding. You'd need a reducer (2.5" to 3") and 2 clamps (2.5" and 3").
Any exhaust shop will have these parts, I'm sure.
Sorry if this has been covered, are the tips on the CS muffler the same size as the GTI, or the CSS muffler?
Thanks for the heads up.
But I ain't dropping outta the CSS sweepstakes until everyone else does. Lol
