Catch can worth it? Bad PCV

It so confusing nowadays. I called the local vw part stockist n check against my vin number, their system show BM is the latest.

Not sure if any difference between Gti from different region as mine is mk7.5 with MPI made in Germany.

What about R vs Gti... 😅

My post already explained that. BM is the latest revision for GTI, and used to be the latest for the R and S#, but BL is the latest for R and S3. BL also fits the GTI, even though not listed as a replacement by the factory, and has stopped some of the track related smoking for quite a few of us in GTI's and R's, though not all.

It's not confusing. Get the BL version if you are keeping the factory PCV. If you're tracking, get a CC too.

On further checking with stockist here, seems that BL is for 1.8 and BM is for 2.0. So even previous version say AT for 2.0 and AS is for 1.8. Previous alphabet for 1.8. At least that what the stockist system showing when we check with the Chinese supplier as there is a huge VW market over there.

When check on Audi Self Study Publication seems like the BL version ie without that vertical stack already existed for a while.

Whatever it is, I will be replacing mine AT with BM to see if any improvements on the blowby as I'm seeing fair amount of oil trapped at the turbo inlet from the pcv connection section.

BL existed already for the B9 A4/A5. It's not the newest revision for the R and S3

So i’m at about 7500 miles on my 2020 gti and just about before 3000 miles my pcv has been dumping oil back into the intake causing me to have to refill some oil every once in awhile. I keep seeing how everyone says the facts pcv is amazing with no problems but maybe mine is broken?

So my question is, does anyone think that a catch can would be worth it or should i have the dealership just replace it since I’m still under warranty.
Also i’m stage 2 with catted downpipe
“I’m still under warranty.”
“Also I’m stage 2 with catted DP.”
Pick one. You don’t get to have your cake an eat it too. Are you under warranty? Or are you tuned? If you’re stage 2 you won’t receive any help from VW for any powertrain issues

not entirely sure but it’s worth a shot. i can always tell them not to scan the computer since legally i’m pretty sure they have to do what the customer says

lol you sound like you don’t know how this stuff works. Legally, they don’t have to do shit. You boight a new Volkswagen and if you want to bring it in for warranty repairs, VW corporate requires an ECU scan from any dealer before approving work. The easiest way for VW to not pay out on a warranty is by denying tuned owners. You are a tuned owner pushing Stage 2 power, AKAsignificantly increased boost/pressure through the engine. The PCV was notdesigned for the pressure levels it is seeing. You will not be covered.

BL is the newest revision for the R and S3. M was the older revision and it's the newest revision for the GTI. The BL is better and fits the GTI. This is my understanding.

BL has stopped my cars smoke show on track. I'll also be adding a CC and better baffled oil pan in time though.
Hi bro!!! I ve the same issue... smoke show at 1/4 mille drag races after hard braking... how much boost is your car running?

Hello. Can you tell us what happened with the BM PCV valve?
I have the same issue with oil at the turbo inlet

I plan to change my PCV. Current version on my car is 06k103495AT, but i'm confused whether to choose the BM or BL version.

My car is model 12th of December 2017. From the beginning i have about 100-150ml/1000km oil consumption. Is a defective PCV responsible for that?
Before a year i changed the turbo inlet & silicone hose to an MST set, RS7 NGK spark plugs and stage 1 (about 250ps & 390Nm now).

Yesterday i checked my "new" spark plugs. I've done 8500km since then.

I'm on a stg 1 tune.

If you're running a big turbo and a lot of boost, APR's cc system that replaces the factory PCV.

The class I run requires I use stock turbo and PCV.

I have the BL PCV and I was burning 1 quart of oil a day at the track. Is there a way to check if the valve is working properly? Or is it easier to just replace it?

I’m stg 2 btw

I'm not sure there's a way to test them.
