Fellow Canadian here! Currently fill er' up with 89 oct, would purchasing a JB4 require me to ALWAYS fill up with 91 just to ensure I can run all the maps? How does it work, would I be able to run any maps with 87? Highest oct in my area is 91! Thanks

We can most likely set it to run on 87 but will need a custom map for that. Have seen a few logs on it in map 1 and most looked ok for daily use.

Hey all, what kind of whp/tq would you expect for stock 1.8 TSI with jb4?

... on newer [fw] whatever amount you punch in the max boost 1st value will reduce the boost. So if you put in 7 it will reduce overall psi by 7psi. At a certain point you will reach the max it can reduce before the car start freaking. Typically up to 10 is doable.

It looks like my Eurodyne Stage 1 is having ign_1 timing pull at 4900rpm. Using the Max Boost 1st, 2nd, 3rd setting wouldn’t help, right? What setting could I use to reduce boost at a certain rpm? I’ve also noticed my Trims are low 20s. What does that indicate?

Map 6 with +1psi 5500-700rpm FOL 10 (George recommendation)

ign_1 is timing advance, and you want that to go up. Your logs look fine

As previously stated, your log looks fine. If you wanted to lower boost at a certain RPM, you can just change the Map 6 value at the desired RPM.

***Used another OBD scanner, it was code P0087 for the fuel rail, my car doesn't seem to be a big fan of FOL 80 as its starting to warm up

Got a CEL tonight on my way home, when I checked the code in the JB4 app, I got p0000, can't find much information about this, anyone have any input for me? Link to a screenshot for reference

Also, just did an oil change as well as changing out the spark plugs.

I've been getting it pretty regular now with full throttle pass on FOL 80 and 21 psi peak, at FOL 80 and 20 psi I wasn't, and at FOL 75 and 20 psi I wasn't either. Going to try kicking it back to 75 with the 21 psi peak and see how things go.

Still have boost control issues. With the JB4 and without. No codes when scanned.

Any logical reason why just the e85 would have caused this? Looks like it may be a mechanical problem? I installed a GFB DV+ but I've done full pulls without a problem with that.

Were you able to figure out what was causing the boost control issue? I am also running APR 91 IS20 on stock DP and see similar things. Currently have APR looking into it...

I answered your PM with some details, but for the sake of this thread, I never found the solution and haven't tested again since I went back straight 93. If you'd like to continue my testing, do this:

Zero out your map 6 boost map, set your FOL to 45 and log while running Map 6. If things seem better, try a higher value. This change will run the ECU boost curve with higher fuel rail pressure. Do you have logs of pulls when you ran in to the problem?
