I am the 1%

Just never bit and did it. Took out the snow guard and that's all I'll ever do.

I would have joined that club, but my car came with a crappy S&B intake. Trying to find a good clean OEM was getting hard, and for the prices being asked I just grabbed a VWR on sale.

But all mods are a waste of money if you look purely at what a vehicle is actually designed for. But what good is a bunch of money sitting in an account somewhere not being used.

The military is great. You can get trained in almost anything, they'll pay for your education, give you mostly decent pay and outstanding healthcare for life (if you stay in 20 years).
The healthcare is awful. Habe you been to a decent civilian clinic? They're almost always much nicer, the facilities are nicer to be in, they don't waste your time. If military inaurance allowed us to use other providers all the time, it'd be great, but that's not the case.

Depends on if you are talking about Military Treatment Facilities or the VA (which is awful for the most part). Under Tricare, I can go to a civilian clinic with a $20 or $40 copay. I'll take Tricare over my old BlueCross/BlueShield any day.

Yep, Tricare Select for the win. I'll give an example for the folks that don't know. I had to get lower back surgery following my tour in Afghanistan and spent a week in the hospital from the surgery. The medical bill was over $60K and I didn't have to pay anything. Most of the bill was written off and since I already met my catastrophic cap for the year prior to my surgery meant I didn't have to pay a dime. The surgery was not with a military doctor or at a military hospital but with a civilian neurosurgeon specialist at a civilian hospital of my choosing. I didn't need a referral to see the neurologist either.

Many people equate the VA with military health facilities and they are two distinct things. VA healthcare is hit or miss depending on where you are, but Tricare (of any flavor) is unbeatable.

Perhaps once you're out and have the option to see a civ PCM and/or specialist. I'm still AD, 6 months left.
