The heating in my Golf Mk7 has been a problem since the Winter started five months ago. It’s been into VW four times now and they are still struggling to fix it.
Initially the heater would suddenly blow cold after driving for about an hour. Also the heat was only luke warm. They flushed the heater matrix twice and replaced a flap motor. It’s stopped going completely cold but the max temperature from the blowers was 43 degrees C and VW agreed it should be more like 73.
During my last visit they claim to have replaced the heater matrix and said that it still hasn’t fixed the problem. They said come back in a few weeks while we wait for a new specialist tool to arrive from Europe.
Are they having me on? I’m not convinced they did replace the heater matrix.
Now the weather is warmer and the blowers are now up to 60 degrees. It’s going to be difficult to know if they’ve done anything now it’s blowing hotter. Come next October I expect it’ll be cold again. One thing that still occurs is the heat on the left is about 10-20 degrees warmer than on the right.
Does anyone know what this specialist tool might be?
