You really should have a power bleeder. It's too much of a PITA to keep filling the reservoir and have someone pump the brakes, and if it runs dry you'll have a lot more work. I'm not positive but you might need VCDS to cycle the pump if you do.

I actually just ordered a power fill to do my transmission fluid at 30K. I know I can convert the power bleeder to be a power fill but I don't feel like dealing with the mixing of fluids and cleaning etc.
