what I WOULD miss

People have talked for awhile about the "cheapening" of the GTI over the years.

The one thing I would *sorely* miss is the hood strut. After years of Japanese cars, I like having a hydraulic strut that's always there and just works.

Everything that gets dropped comes back with the next body style

I’ve owned Volkswagen with and without several little options like the hood struts. Luckily there’s always an OEM+ way to add what you’re missing

Wife's Tucson did not have hood struts.
Does now......and two of them.

No.
I think the thread is asking what would you miss if VW removed from car due to coat savings.
Like the "engine"!
I would miss that.

If VW started using aluminum body sheets then it is possible they replace the lightness and cost by removing the strut.
