2.75" OE, 3" for most aftermarket. I think the new mk7.5 as a 3" OE dp. the biggest problem isn't the DP it's the (2) ceramic cats. they flow horribly.

So stock the GTI and the R are the same? Too bad the cats don't clamp or bolt in like they did on GM cars in the 70's.

Have you tried measuring the backpressure with one of these?

You planning on any backpressure testing? You always hear people saying there's no significant difference between a test pipe vs the newer hi-flow cats, but never offer any proof, and I've always thought that as laughable. (NOT saying I'd run a TP)

It would be nice to have some data. You can find backpressure data for mufflers not cats, go figure
