What file system did you use? I tried exFAT at first, but had to reformat the cards using FAT32 instead. Now even slow class 2 32GB cards work fine.

Very useful thread, thanks to all.

I want to buy music on iTunes using my laptop (which has an SD card socket), transfer it to an SD card then stick the SD card into the relevant port in my GTI's glove compartment, in the hope this will mean I can access and play the music through the car's Infotainment screen.

Am I on the right track?

I just loaded sdcard with just mp3 files and whwn I load the card tells me unable to load or read. I formatted card before loading wirh music.
[emoji27] And didn't have my glasses on and loaded sdcard in cd slot, guess what!! I had to fish darned card out with two small Allen wrenches, me idiota

Hmm, I think more than an eye test is due there

I stand to be corrected, by I think anything over 2gb will require a SDHC card and not just SD.

I use a Lexar Premium 32gb SDHC, it's a class 10 card. Works great, I've experienced no problems with it to date but it is a bit pricy.
