In case you were wondering, this is what 245/35r19 General GMAX-RS looks like on a 19x8 ET49 w/ 12mm spacers in the front and 15mm in the rear while being lowered on DG springs. Looks great. Rubs in the front and rubs in the back though. Going to order some 10mm to put in the front and 12mm to put in the rear and see how it goes. Might end up needing to do 10mm rear and 5 or 8mm front. Anyone have a stud conversion set and lug nuts they recommend?

I rub on the front with the same wheels & 235/35 Michelin P4s with no spacers on the front when going fast over large dips. I need to do the fender screw mod and that should hopefully clear it up. This is with the Bilstein B12 kit. Was never an issue with my previous 18x8 44mm offset wheels though.

Im about to get new 235/40 PS4S installed on my 18x8 ET40 wheels tomorrow and I'm lowered on Eibach Pro kit - think I'll rub?

What size spacer are you running in the rear? I havent done the fender screw mod either. I was running 15mm/20mm when I was on 235/35r19s. That setup didnt rub, but thats probably because the tires were fairly worn out.

Installed ECS stud conversion kit, clean and waxed my Miltons while at it, and installed APR spacers.

I went with 17mm rear and 12mm front for a less aggressive 'flush fitment' on the OEM 18's.

I also picked up a Schwaben jack (big money) and the OEM jack pad kit so I dont muck up my factory jack points any worse than they already are. The Schwaben jack was worth the $200 IMO. Its beautiful.

I have H&R 10mm spacers on the rear but no rubbing back there.

Finished fitting the ECS Flush Kit (20/15mm) today that I got used via a fellow forum user. Started the task last night and thought it was maybe too aggressive for the OEM wheels (18" Pretorias) & suspension combo but after finishing it today I love it and am very happy. Took it for a quick spin and felt no adverse effects. To me, the car felt slightly more planted in the corners but that may just be a placebo effect.

First time jacking this car up and 1. I need a wheel hanger (especially when fitting spacers) - I heard rumors that some Mk7s come with one but I couldnt see one in my car. 2. I like to "get to know" the stock jack & tool situation at least once with all our vehicles but it is now time to get a floor jack. I think I found one at Harbor Freight that will work well with both the GTI and my truck - just keeping an eye out for a coupon now.

Finished painting the center caps for my APR wheels. Satin black seems like the best route to go rather than trying to color match the custom frosted satin bronze wheel color. Also installed all of the interior Badgeskins that have been laying around all winter. Did the carbon fiber steering wheel inlay, carbon fiber passenger airbag delete, carbon fiber cluster trim, red lettering for the GTI steering wheel badge, red steering wheel stripe and red inlays for the pedals.

Today I cleaned my engine bay, and then scratched the shit out of the bottom of my front bumper while backing it off my driveway. First and only time that I have parked that way on the driveway of our new house. The lip between the road and the driveway is a bitch. Had some scratches on the black plastic previously that were easy to sand down but this is the first damage to anything painted on my year old car.

Installed “GlassParency” windshield coating. Pretty easy process to put on; it’s essentially a super wax that helps to repel dirt, bugs, etc. VinWiki was giving away a code for the kits for 10 bucks.
