This is my second go around wrapping my GTI. Started off with a CSG GTI then wrapped with cheetah wrap gloss bright yellow. Stuck with yellow for 2 years and just wrapped with cheetah wrap satin charcoal metallic.

Looks great.
Cheetahwrap has been a good wrap, up until removing it. While the wrap was pretty easy to remove, there were a few spots where clear coat pulled up. I’m pretty disappointed, probably stick with Avery wrap next time.

I traded the GTI in with the wrap on (moved to an R now), so not something I have to worry about. I didn't do it myself, there is a guy around me who would do $1k color change wraps, and he uses Cheetahwrap. All in, I paid $1400 for mine. Seems his prices have gone up substantially in the last two years.

They used to start at $1k.

I'm used to 3-4k being the price of a good paint job. A wrap shouldn't be that close in price to a paint job.

Yea wrap prices are pretty insane. The time and effort that goes into wrapping is long and tedious, the pros definitely earn their pay if doing it right. I think is worth doing yourself, and not paying those rates of $2k and above for a temporary color change.

Agreed.

Looked at the invoice, that was what I paid just over a year ago, last March. $1,475 all in. Which I thought was a great price.

I was planning on eventually looking at getting the R wrapped, probably the Gloss Light Blue

But probably won't if it would end up costing twice as much :(

I was pretty shocked to see this happen. Cheetahwrap has a very low initial tack which makes it user/ beginner friendly. They have all kinds of disclaimers stating no warranties. I reached out to them but got no response. I don't think my case should discourage you from wrapping. Plenty of other reputable brands. I've had success with Avery with no paint damage.

My car has been wrapped in Inozetek Nardo grey for almost 2 years now. With all the rock chips I will probably get the hood and front bumper re wrapped but overall I'm pretty happy with it .

Inozetek looks so good. Gloss looks like paint.
My bumper and hood got absolutely peppered by salt and rock over 2 years. This time around I actually applied xpel satin PPF on the areas of high impact.
