I guess that your lack of answers is your answer. I have found that in the VW world, people LOVE to overcharge for pretty much the same things I would get for over a 1/3 less for my last car...
things like springs, sways, ECM TUNING... I got a home tuner and a world class tuning team for under $400 for my Focus ST... And that included 5 different tune files including an E30 tune with instant email support and unlimited tune revisions... I could go on, but business is business.
I think BFI said it best: "We try to offer the best price to all customers, regardless of forum affiliation.
" So in other words, no.

This. I have seen some decent prices on somethings but it's like suppliers think these are Audis. $600 for an intake? For essentially an air filter change?!
