Strange smell from GTD air con upon start-up

Has anyone else experienced an unpleasant vinegar-like smell through their air-con?

It's been happening almost every day when I first start the car recently, and lasts for a few minutes usually before clearing so it must be clearing some chemical out of the airways?

I originally thought it was only happening after the car had performed a DPF regen from the previous trip, but I feel like it's something else now.

COULD BE BACTERIA, MINE DOES IT, BUT THEN MINE HISSES THEN STOPS TOOK IT INTO VW WHO SAID LEVEL OF GAS WAS AT 670 SHOULD HAVE BEEN 500. NEEDLESS TO SAY DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM

I haven't noticed any hissing. It's going in for an inspection in 2 weeks so will mention it to VW.
