Getting a new mk7 1.4 auto dsg and slightly nervous about garaging it.
car length is 4225 and garage length is 4400.

Ihave a 2008 golf manual which fits nicely as i creep it onto some foam at the far wall.

The mk7 is longer but threre should still be at least 10cm spare.

Question is: I can control clutch on my present golf to creep gently on to foam. After reading some posts I am worried I will not have the same control with the dsg.
Will I be able to roll/creep the car?

Yes you should be able to.
Have a similar situation ie garage tight lengthwise , foam at far end & DSG.
Just creep in.
The parking sensors at front also help.

Thanks,
I had read that the pickup was aggressive from a standing start.
Access to my garage is uphill so I will have to brake then 'creep' once inside.
Fingers crossed

UPDATE

With Park Assist option you have side sensors fitted so I now turn the sensors off now whilst garaging as they go mad ' dinging ' to eanable better concentration.
I don't find the pick up from standstill on DSG at all aggressive by the way..

That is reassuring, thanks.

I will have park assist so I will follow your advice.

Must garage it as our old focus was 'keyed' last week.

I must admit that I'm finding it very hard to creep in compared to other automatics I've had in the past. So much so, that I managed to scratch my driver's side door mirror cover whilst reversing out of my very tight (in width) garage!
