Hi guys,

I have retrofitted a rgb ambient light kit from china and it works fine. All the lights are working and the color is changeable via my hmi screen.

This is the kit:

When I go to my brightness menu and i try to change the brightness, weird things are happening. This is the menu:

I found out that the footwell brightness slider is changing the modes. The one for the door works fine and the one for the roof is applying on all the lights.

I want to disable that mode selector when using footwell brightness. Does someone know how I can get it like original? I asked the seller but he doesn’t even know what he’s selling 😖

Here is the info that’s given in the installation manual:

I hope someone can help me with this.

I found out that there are some settings on the control box. There are 8 dip switches which are are changing some settings of the lights but it’s unclear what they exactly do. I tried a lot of combinations but I didn’t found any combination that disables the mode selection instead of footwell brightness.

these aliexpress leds will probably only dim if you select 'all' and dim them.

Actually for the doors it works perfectly. The roof one is dimming everything and the footwell is changing light modes. There is also an app which I can use to control the lights and with the app I am able to dim 2 zones independently from each other. Zone 2 is doing exactly the same as on my hmi screen when i use door dimming. But I can’t control zone 1 via my hmi screen.

so you're expecting your 5F/BCM to fully control your app-controlled ambient lights? I'm a bit confused now, sorry.

@iichel no, it’s just an extra thing that you can control the light with an app. The control box is connected to the canbus so it reads the data and converts it to a rgb signal. As I said i can control the light colors from my screen in my car like original. The only problem is with the dimming function. They programmed the footwell brightness into a mode selector. I want to disable this but I can’t find out how. I hope to find someone that had the same problem and fixed it.
