Rear door speaker replacement cost

Hey everyone

I've got (what I believe is) the dreaded leaking speaker. It's a used car that I bought a few months ago and is still under the VW's used warranty but I notice in the warranty terms that it does not cover seals so I'm not expecting they will replace it under warranty

Has anyone had this done recently and what was the cost? Was it done by your dealer?

Would you advise doing both of them as a preventative thing, or leave it alone as long as it's working?

Assuming the dealer won’t cover it I’d consider doing it yourself after watching several YouTube videos.

if you're comfortable with that you can handle removing the speaker (drilling out 4 rivets) and re sealing the speaker IMO.

Whether you do them all at once or just the one is up to you. I've done 3 of 4, one at a time, when they started leaking.

Dealer covered mine. Call em…….just keep hope it’s not your infotainment like I suspect mine is. Started with rear passenger and now front bass speakers go in and out. Lunch break I got passenger bass driver back woohoo
